Our Skylander pups are hitting big developmental milestones this week, transforming from wobbly toddlers into curious, confident explorers. Here’s what these tiny heroes are up to:
🛠️ Developmental Milestones
1. Mobility Mastery: Toddling ➡️ Trotting ➡️ Full-on zoomies! They’re climbing, leaping, and pouncing like mini ninjas.
2. Sensory Superpowers: Eyesight sharpens (they’re locking onto human faces!), and they’re starting to locate sounds (though hearing is still developing).
3. Teething Time: Those needle-sharp puppy teeth have arrived — ouch!
4. Bravery Boost: This week, they’re drawn to novelty — a critical window for building confidence before natural caution sets in.
🏡 Puppy Life This Week
1. Free Play in the House: Pups are unleashed (supervised!) in a puppy-proofed area during pen cleanings.
2. Outdoor Adventures:
Weather permitting, they’re exploring the melting snow! Mama Blue models bravery, and pups learn to embrace new textures, smells, and sounds.
3. Handling & Grooming Prep: Regular nail trims (for their comfort and Mom’s!). Gentle ear, tail, and paw handling to prep for vet visits and grooming. “Zen training”: Belly rubs in our laps until they relax — no wiggling allowed!
4. Sound Desensitization:
Vacuum? Blow dryer? We pair new noises with positive vibes (playtime, meals) and adjust volume/distance until pups stay calm.
Every experience this week shapes their future as calm, adaptable companions. We’re pouring love (and strategy!) into socialization to ensure they’re ready for therapy/service work or family life.
